After cycling the rail trail towards Kimberley (we did about 20km each way), I was looking for something to do in the afternoon.  My original thought was to try the Cranbrook golf course which is about 5 or 6 blocks away from our campground.  Turned out to be men’s night there and it was all booked up.  My next thought was to head out to Shadow Mountain, however I got there 10 mins late after the last t-time for the day and they wouldn’t let me play. Following that I drove up to Wildstone golf, and the sign at the entrance said no walk-ons, and a phone in t-time is mandatory.  I lost out there as well as their only available slot was at 5:10 for 9 holes only.

Next plan – head across the highway and down to St. Eugenes resort and golf, finally I hit it lucky and was able to play a round. I was paired up with the hotel manager for the first 9, then played solo for the back 9.  This worked out well as I got a bit of history about the resort, and some info. on the course itself.  My final score for the day was a 94 consisting of only 1 par this time and a lot of +1 and +2’s.  Overall a nice course.
