We left home around 8:00 this morning, and got to the Needles ferry by 10.00. We noticed a camera there, so we grabbed a screen shot of ourselves waiting in line from the sites online footage.

We drove along Slocan Lake for quite a while. It’s a really big lake, surrounded by steep mountains. We saw a view point along the way, so we stopped in to grab a couple pictures. It was all fenced off because of the steep drop off down to the lake.

We got to Castlegar Golf and RV around 1:00, where Dad and Esther were waiting in the spot beside us. They’re doing their own road trip, and were here last night, as well as for tonight. We did a round of 9 holes with them, then Rob and I continued on so he could do the other 9. The weather was perfect, sunny yet on the cooler side.
Apparently there’s a little brown bear, as well as a mother black bear and her cubs, who frequent the golf course and RV park. The lady who runs the campground said they mind their own businessas long as you mind yours, and showed me a picture of the brown bear standing right on top of an apple tree today. Esther said they saw him today as well, digging in the grass on the golf course.
